Joseph R. Chera
Since leaving Iona College in 2001, Joe has continued his public relations career at Clear Channel
Radio-New York’s Classic Rock Radio Station-Q104.3 FM. Joe can be heard very often during road shows when the DJ
mentions “Joe C” and the road show. Prior to his promotional career at Q104.3FM, Joe was in the promotional
department for Country Y107FM based in Westchester New York. Joe hopes to complete his degree at Iona and advance
in the promotional aspect of public relations.
MaryRose S. Grech
Since graduating from Iona College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations in May
of 2001, Rose has continued her communications career at a small Advertising Boutique in New York City. She had
previously served as the PRSSA Chapter President at Iona and worked at Shandwick International.
Kristen Lynch
Kristen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations in May of 2001 from
Iona College. She became a PRSSA member that year which helped her land a public relations job with Pitney Bowes.
Shantel Oorlog-Hansen
Shantel graduated from Iona College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations in
May of 2001. Shantel worked in the communications department for Tommy Hilfigger in New York City and then moved
to Boston where she has worked in the insurance field and now the event programming aspect of public relations.

Jonathan L. Stark
Jonathan graduated from the returning adult program at Iona College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass
Communication/Journalism in 2001. Jonathan is a free-lance journalist for several New York Newspapers as well as
using his previous legal training as the Manager of Litigation for the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey.
Jonathan’s former office was in the World Trade Center but he was very fortunate to be out of the building on
September 11th.
Kristen A. Toher
Kristen graduated with honors from Iona College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication/Public
Relations in May of 2001. She completed her two-year role as Vice President of the Iona PRSSA Chapter as well as
her yearlong internship with The Lukaszewski Group in White Plains New York. Upon her graduation, Kristen became
an Account Executive at The Lukaszewski Group and is now a Senior Account Executive with them.
Jessica Dunbar
Jess graduated from Iona College in May of 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication/Public
Relations. She then completed a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication/Public Relations in May of 2001 while serving
as a Graduate Assistant as well. She then went to Wall Street for a brief stint before returning to Iona College
in August of 2001 to become the Director of Student Activities. Jessica has developed the Student Activities Office
into an amazing place and given Student Activities a sense of importance and excitement. She hopes to one day
pursue a career in event planning where she can utilize her tremendous talents in that area.
