John L. Paluszek is President of Ketchum Public Affairs with senior counseling responsibility for public affairs and corporate communications.

For more than thirty years, John has counseled corporations, trade associations and non-profit organizations on strategic planning, government relations, issues management, crisis communications, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, media relations and public relations planning and implementation.

The 1989 national President of the Public Relations Society of America, John has held many other PRSA offices. In addition, in the fall of 1988, he represented PRSA in the US-Soviet Bilateral Information Talks in Moscow and in the First East-West Public Relations Conference in Vienna. In June 1989, he was the keynote speaker at the First Asia-Pacific Public Relations Congress in Manila.

In June 1992, John was chosen "Public Relations Professional of the Year" by Public Relations News, a national trade publication. In November 1994, he received PRSA's Gold Anvil Award for "lifetime contributions to the advancement of public relations." In the fall of 1999, PRSA's National Capital Chapter named him one of twelve initial inductees into its "Washington Area Public Relations Hall of Fame." And in March 2000 he was the recipient of Ball State University's National Public Relations Professional Achievement Award.

He is currently Co-Chairman of the Commission on Public Relations Education.

Before establishing Paluszek & Leslie Associates, Inc., a public affairs counseling firm that was acquired by Ketchum in 1984, John was a business magazine editor at McGraw-Hill Publishing Company and Executive Vice President of Creamer, Basford, Inc., a New York public relations and advertising firm.

A graduate of Manhattan College with a degree in management, he is a trustee of the college and a former President of the college's alumni society. He resides in Old Westbury, N.Y.
